Jitesh Sharma Shines as RCB Secures 6-Wicket Victory Against Lucknow

The wk-batter Jitesh Sharma’s stellar knock has helped the side to secure a 6-wicket victory in the IPL 2025 game against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27 at Ekana Cricket Stadium.

After Virat Kohli’s dismissal, he took charge of the innings, scoring 85 runs off 33 deliveries to chase it down with 8 balls to spare.

His partnership with Mayank Agarwal went on to play a crucial role in the side’s victory in Tuesday’s clash and completed third third-highest run chase in IPL history. With this win, RCB secured a second spot in the IPL 2025 points table and will be playing in Qualifier 1 in the playoff stages.

Batting first, Mitchell Marsh and Matthew Breetzke opened the innings while Nuwan Thusara opened the bowling attack.

Thushara brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Breetzke for 14 runs. With Marsh and Pant at the crease, Lucknow went on to score 55 runs in the powerplay.

Mitchell Marsh put up a solid knock, scoring 67 runs off 37 deliveries before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Marsh and Pant made a 152-run partnership for the second wicket.

With Lucknow aiming for a massive total, Rishabh Pant went on to score 100 runs off 54 deliveries which included 10 fours and 6 sixes.

With the dismissal of Pooran for 13 runs by Romario Shepherd, Pant remained unbeaten 118 runs off 61 deliveries and helped the side to post 227 runs for three wickets in the 20 over innings.

In the pursuit of chasing 228 runs, Virat Kohli and Phil Salt opened the innings while Akash Maharaj opened the bowling attack.

After Phil Salt lost his wicket for 30 runs, RCB went on to score 66 runs in the powerplay. With Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone lost their wicket to William O’Rourke, Virat Kohli went to smash 50 runs before being dismissed by Avesh Khan.

However, Mayank Agarwal and Jitesh Sharma went on to anchor the innings forging a 50+ partnership.

Both remained unbeaten in the game with Jitesh Sharma scoring 85 runs off 33 deliveries while Mayank Agarwal amassed 41 runs off 23 deliveries. They went on to complete the innings with 8 balls to spare at Ekana Cricket Stadium.

However, Mayank Agarwal and Jitesh Sharma went on to anchor the innings forging a 50+ partnership.

Both remained unbeaten in the game with Jitesh Sharma scoring 85 runs off 33 deliveries while Mayank Agarwal amassed 41 runs off 23 deliveries. They went on to complete the innings with 8 balls to spare at Ekana Cricket Stadium.
