Former cricketer Robin Uthappa has praised uncapped youngster Priyansh Arya for his impressive performance during the IPL 2025 game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians.

During the game, Arya made a stunning 62 runs knock off 35 deliveries, which includes nine boundaries and two sixes and helped the side to secure a 7-wicket victory against mighty Mumbai.

Robin Uthappa spoke about Priyansh and called him a ‘young talent’. Arya has had an incredible season so far, scoring 424 runs in the group stages of the 2025 season.

Despite a slow start to the season, he picked up really well and has helped the side to qualify for playoffs.

“He’s been scintillating this season, a real revelation alongside several other young talents. But when you talk about standout youngsters, his name comes up right away.”

“To deliver such a performance in a high-stakes match, one that determined qualifier positioning, shows he has the temperament for big games. He communicated well with Josh Inglis, rotated the strike efficiently, ran hard between the wickets, and played to his strengths,” said Robin Uthappa.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer was seemingly happy with the performance of his team as they stepped up at the right time to help win the match. They have secured a top two spot in the IPL 2025 points table.

“I personally feel everyone stepped up at the right time. We have been in that mindset that we have to win no matter what the situation. Kudos to everyone and the management.”

“Ricky has been fantastic, and for me it was about gaining the trust of every individual. And that happened by winning matches, and I personally feel we need to maintain that relationship throughout,” said Shreyas Iyer.
