BPL 2024 Final: Comilla Victorians defeated Fortune Barishal in the final of Bangladesh Premier League 2024 by six wickets at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.

First-time champions Fortune Barishal won the toss and elected to bowl first, restricting Comilla Victorians to 154/6 despite an unbeaten 27 off 14 deliveries from Andre Russell who came out to bat at eight (in 17th over) despite the fifth wicket falling at the score of 79 in 11.5 overs. James Fuller picked two wickets for Barishal.

Tamim Iqbal and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (29) forged a 76-run partnership in just eight overs to give Barishal a solid start. Captain Tamim Iqbal departed for 39 off 26, before Kyle Mayers hammered 46 runs off 30 balls to push Victorians completely out of the match. Mustafizur Rahman and Moeen Ali picked two wickets apiece. After being not been able to play much games in the last three months, I played one game in the SA20, and then one game in Australia and then came here. There was a time when we were almost out of the tournament but we made it into the semi-finals, a lot of people talk about the shorter formats but I feel sticking to the basics is most important, there is where experience comes into play. We didn't bat well enough, we were 20 runs short and we didn't take the half chances in the field. I felt it was a good batting wicket in the first half, the ball turned more in the second half. (On holding back Russell) It's very difficult to answer, I thought our players well playing well till the 15th over, still I thought 150 was a good score in the final, if we bowled and fielded well, it would have been a different ball-game.
