Josh Inglis Blitz Powers Punjab Kings to 7-Wicket Victory Against Mumbai Indians

The Wk-batter Josh Inglis’s resilient knock has helped the Punjab Kings to secure a seven-wicket victory in the IPL 2025 game against Mumbai Indians on May 26 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

He went on to score 73 runs off 42 deliveries in the 185-run chase on Monday’s clash. By this victory, Punjab Kings seal a spot in the top two of the IPL 2025 points table.

Batting first, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma opened the innings while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack. The Mumbai duo went on to play a decent knock of 45 for the first wicket as Rickelton lost his wicket to Marco Jansen for 27 runs.

With Suryakumar Yadav joining Rohit Sharma, they went on to score 52 runs in the powerplay.

After Tilak Varma lost his wicket for 1 run, Will Jacks lost his wicket to Vyshak Vijaykumar for 17 runs leaving Mumbai losing four wickets for 106 runs.

However Hardik Pandya and Naman Dhir went on to provide some contributions. With Hardik Pandya’s 26 and Naman Dhir’s 20 runs, Mumbai pushed their total to cross 150 runs.

Meanwhile Suryakumar Yadav went on to complete his 21st half century.

After an onslaught in the penulitmate over, Arshdeep Singh pulled back very effectively, picking two wickets and conceding only three runs to restrict 200 run score.

Apart from Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and Vijaykumar Vyshak also picked two wickets each while Harpreet Brar had one dismissal.

In the pursuit of chasing 185 runs, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the attack while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack.

Bumrah broke the opening partnership, dismissing Prabhsimran Singh for 13 runs. With Priyansh Arya and Josh Inglis at the crease, PBKS went on to score 47 runs in the powerplay.

They continued to bat steadily and hit fifties each, forging a 100+ partnership in their run chase. However Arya got dismissed by Santner for 62 runs While Josh Inglis was sent out on for 73 runs by the New Zealander.

With Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 26 runs, Punjab Kings went on to complete the chase in the 19th over. They scored 187 runs with 9 balls to spare securing their spot in top two of the IPL 2025 points table.

They continued to bat steadily and hit fifties each, forging a 100+ partnership in their run chase. However Arya got dismissed by Santner for 62 runs While Josh Inglis was sent out on for 73 runs by the New Zealander.

With Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 26 runs, Punjab Kings went on to complete the chase in the 19th over. They scored 187 runs with 9 balls to spare securing their spot in top two of the IPL 2025 points table.
