Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Onslaught Powered 6-Wicket Victory for Rajasthan Against CSK

The composed knock from 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi helped Rajasthan Royals to secure a 6-wicket victory in the IPL 2025 game against Chennai Super Kings on May 20 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

He solid knock of 57 runs off 33 deliveries, setting the pace in Rajasthan’s 188-run chase on Tuesday’s clash.

Batting first, Ayush Mhatre and Devon Conway opened the innings while Tushar Deshpande opened the bowling attack. Conway lost his wicket for 10 runs while Urvil Patel was sent out on a duck by Yudhvir Singh.

Meanwhile, Mhatre picked up the pace, scoring 43 runs off 20 deliveries, which included 8 fours and 1 six. However, he went on to lose his wicket to Tushar Deshpande in the 6th over.

With his dismissal, CSK lost 3 wickets for 68 runs in the powerplay. On the other hand Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja went on to lost their wickets for 13 and 1 respectively.

With Yudhvir Singh bagging the wicket of Jadeja, CSK lost five wickets for 78 runs. With the yellow side struggling, Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube are trying to forge a partnership to move forward in the scoreboard.

Brevis went on to score 42 runs off 25 deliveries before being dismissed by Akash Madhwal. MS Dhoni walked in where he joined Shivam Dube to take the score towards 200.

In the pursuit of chasing 188 runs target, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.

Jaiswal went on aggressive mode scoring 36 runsoff 19 deliveries before being dismissed by Anshul Kamboj.

However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sanju Samson went on to score 56 runs and made a solid 98-run partnership for the second wicket.

Ashwin gave a breakthrough picking the wickets of Samson and Suryavanshi in the 14th over for 41 and 57 runs respectively.

Despite Riyan Parag’s dismissal for 3 runs by Noor Ahmad, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer went on to take the side towards victory completing the chase in the 18th over with 17 balls to spare.

Jurel and Hetmyer remained unbeaten with 31 and 12 runs to register their fourth win of the season.
