'Virat Kohli should open the innings with Rohit in the T-20 World Cup', former Indian captain advised.

The biggest question regarding the World Cup team is that which player will open the innings with captain Rohit Sharma in the marquee tournament. In this race, names of players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill are leading. So some people also believe that veteran batsman Virat Kohli should open in the World Cup. Now in this context, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has responded while talking to news agency PTI.

He said, “Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will definitely go to West Indies. The selectors have to decide which players will open the innings for the Indian team. However, if you ask my personal opinion, I would say that Rohit and Virat should open in the T20 World Cup. Kohli has the ability to score 100 runs in 40 balls and according to me both of them should open the innings.”

Let us tell you that both these players have performed well so far in IPL 2024. Kohli also plays as an opening batsman for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in this league. In such a situation, the experience of these two players can be beneficial for Team India. The 35-year-old has played a total of 8 matches so far this season, in which he has scored 379 runs at an average of 63.17 and with this he continues to hold the Orange Cap. On the other hand, Rohit has scored 297 runs.
