When one talks about the world’s toughest leagues, the Indian Premier League (IPL)undoubtedly tops the list. Over its 18-year history, this thrilling tournament has showcased the talents of the best players from the globe. Whether it’s explosive batting, skillful bowling or athletic fielding, the IPL has witnessed some breathtaking performances. Two of the IPL’s prominent teams, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have shared several players who left indelible marks on both franchises. Let’s explore the players who have represented both these franchises in IPL.
1. Mitchell Marsh
The dynamic Australian batter Mitchell Marsh have represented multiple franchises in the IPL. While his early stints with Pune Warriors India (PWI) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) gave glimpses of his potential, it was with SRH in 2020 that he looked set for a new chapter. However, injury cut his season short after just one appearance. In 2025 auction he was bought by LSG and it turned out fruitful. In 10 games in 2025, he has scored 378 runs with a strike rate of 155. giving fiery starts to his sides.
2. Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram brought his reputation as a composed top-order batter to the IPL with SRH in 2022. He quickly became one of the most consistent performers for the franchise, even captaining them in the 2023 season. His elegant strokeplay and calm temperament under pressure made him a dependable name at top of the order. In 2025 auction, Markram moved to LSG in a significant move to his T20 career. Opening the batting with Marsh, Markram has played some good temperament innings so far with a anchoring touch. He too have scored 348 runs in this season with a healthy average of 32.
3. Abdul Samad
Abdul Samad burst onto the IPL scene with SRH in 2020, becoming the third cricketer from Jammu & Kashmir to feature in the league. Known for his raw power and fearless hitting, Samad became SRH’s go-to option in the lower middle order during tense run chases. In 2025 auction, Samad was picked up by LSG looking to inject firepower into their finishing department. While still young, Samad has gained experience and is working on becoming a more rounded player. His ability to clear boundaries at will and his calm head under pressure are traits that make him a valuable asset for any franchise. In this year with LSG, Samad is striking at the rate of 186 helping LSG with those extra 15-20 runs in the end.
4. Shahbaz Ahmed
A left-arm orthodox bowling all-rounder from Haryana, Shahbaz Ahmed made his IPL debut with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2020. Later in 2024 he moved to SRH, contributing them with bat and bowl. In 2025 auction, LSG brought him on board to boost their spin-bowling all-rounder options. However, he hasn’t got much chance with the side this year. So far in the IPL, he has scored 21 wickets along with 545 runs to his name.
5. Jaydev Unadkat
Experienced left-arm pacer Jaydev unadkat has been a journeyman in the IPL, representing several franchises over the years. He had a brief stint with LSG in 2024, used as frontline seamer. Though used sparingly, his ability to bowl slower balls and cutters on dry pitches made him a handy asset in specific conditions. Following that, Unadkat moved to Hyderabad for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. With SRH, he played more of a supporting role, often coming in as a backup pacer. His control and smart use of variations have made him a go-to option on slower surfaces.
