Shreyas Iyer gets subbed off; Shashank Singh takes over captaincy reins
With Iyer visibly struggling from an injury, the PBKS skipper was subbed off after the first innings with Harpreet Brar taking the field as an impact player. In his absence on the field, Shashank Singh took over the captaincy reins.
It is to be noted that Iyer walked out for toss with a heavily taped index finger, having been hit during the practice session on the eve of the match. However, he came out to bat when Punjab found themselves in a tricky situation after three of the top-order batters departed cheaply.
