Delhi: The Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday achieved the target of 200 runs against the Delhi Capitals (DC) without losing wickets. This is successfully pursuing the biggest target without losing any wickets in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) achieved a target of 184 runs against Gujarat Lions (GL) in 2017 without losing wickets. Apart from this, many more records have been made in the match of GT vs DC.
200+: GT has become the second team to do so in T20 cricket, who has achieved the target of 200+ without losing wickets. Earlier, Pakistan achieved a target of 200 runs in the T20 international match against England in 2022 without losing wickets.
2-0: In IPL 2025, GT has successfully pursued a target of 200+ in both matches against DC. This is the first time a team has chased 200+ targets twice in the same IPL season against any one opponent. Earlier, only Bulgaria did this in a T20 tournament against Serbia in 2022.
2: Both lost against GT in IPL 2025 were the first time when DC could not defend the target despite scoring more than 200. Earlier, whenever DC set a target of 200+ in IPL, their record was 13–0. At the same time, GT had never successfully achieved the target of 200+ runs before.
The 205 -run partnership was for the first wicket between B Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill, the biggest partnership in any of the IPL chase. Earlier, the biggest partnership was David Warner and Naman Ojha’s 189* run, which was for the second wicket against Deccan Chargers in 2012.
3: This is the third partnership of 200+ runs for the first wicket in IPL. Two of these partnerships are between Sudarshan and Gill. He added 210 runs against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2024. Apart from this, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul shared a 210* run opening partnership against KKR in 2022.
1: Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill have become the first partner to share 200+ run opening in men’s T20 cricket twice. Earlier, only the pair of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers shared 200+ runs in the men’s T20 more than once.
7: Sai Sudarshan and Shubman Gill have made 7 centuries partnerships in 30 innings in IPL. Only two couples have played more century partnerships – Kohli and De Villiers (10), and Kohli and Chris Gayle (9).
1: KL Rahul has become the first player to score a century for three different franchisees in IPL. Earlier, he had four centuries in IPL – two for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) and two for Lucknow Super Giants. Now he scored his first century for DC.
318 runs were scored by opening batsmen in Delhi on Sunday, who are the most runs by opening batter in IPL match. Of these, 313 runs have come with the bat of Rahul (112), Sudarshan (108) and Gill (93*).
Earlier, three batsmen scored 90+ runs in the men’s T20 match only once – Tamim Iqbal (95), Shai Hope (91) And Johnson Charles (107) Did this do this in a match of BPL 2023.
