KKR’s name recorded with dislocates from IPL 2025, the second team to do so after Mumbai Indians

The Indian Premier League 2025 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday (May 17) was canceled without a ball game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday (May 17). The current champion Kolkata Knight Risers dropped out of the playoff race as the match was inconclusive. This season this is the second match of Kolkata Knight Riders, which has been rained.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the title for the third time by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad last season under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. But the current season could not qualify for the playoffs. This is the third consecutive time Kolkata Knight Riders team has not been able to qualify in the playoffs in the next season of becoming champions. Earlier in the year 2012 and 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders became champions, but could not qualify in the playoffs in the next season.

Earlier in the history of IPL, Mumbai Indians have a bad record. Mumbai’s team has also not been able to qualify in the next season playoffs after becoming champions three times. Mumbai became champions in 2015, 2017 and 2020 and could not go beyond the next season playoffs.
