The first step for India's tour to England has officially been taken, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India 'A' squad which will play two matches vs England Lions and one intra-squad match against the senior team.
While there have been some players who have made it into the squad like Ishan Kishan and Karun Nair, some players have definitely missed the cut, with Rajat Patidar probably being the most prominent name.
Why Rajat Patidar Was Not Named In India A Squad
Rajat Patidar suffered an injury to his finger while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 3 (Saturday).
This injury has proven to be quite serious, as according to reports, he might be ruled out for the entire duration of the IPL 2025.In fact, the injury is so serious that reports state that it would keep him out for England tour as well. Bengal batter Abhimany Easwaran will be captaining the India A side in the tour to England.
