The Australian cricketers Pat Cummins and Travis Head are likely to be join Sunrisers Hyderabad for the rest of the IPL 2025 which is set to resume on IPL 2025.
They are overseas signing of Hyderabad, who had left once the IPL was suspended on May 09 for one week due to cross-border tensions with Pakistan.
Both players were named in Australia’s squad for the World Test Championship finals against South Africa, starting on June 11 at Lord’s, which raised concerns about their availability for the remainder of the Indian league.
with the side out of contention for the playoffs, the decision to resume the season was announced on May 11, after the Ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
It is understood that Pat Cummins, the SRH captain and Travis Head have told the franchise they will fly back to India.
“Pat has a responsibility as captain of the franchise and is looking at returning,” Cummins’ manager Neil Maxwell told media.
Meanwhile Ben Oliver, Cricket Australia’s head of national teams, said while it was an ‘extreme situation’ the board would ‘work with players on their individual decision to return to India or not’ over the next two days.
There is not confirmation yet on other srh’s overseas players – heinrich klaasen, eshan maminga, kamadundu mendis and wia muld will rejoin the squad.
SRH are currently in the eighth position of the IPL 2025 points table with three wins in 11 matches. They will play their remaining games against Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The IPL has announced the revised schedule for the remainder of the season on May 12; there are 13 league games to be played across six venues, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru while the venues for the playoffs are yet to be announced.
