On May 13, 2018, Ambati Rayudu notched up his maiden and only Indian Premier League (IPL) ton for (CSK) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to help his side bag an eight-wicket win.
Winning the toss, Chennai captain MS Dhoni invited the Orange Army to bat first at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. Deepak Chahar delivered the early blow to Hyderabad in the form of Alex Hales, who departed in the fourth over of the match after scoring only two off nine. However, Shikhar Dhawan along with captain Kane Williamson stood at the crease and stitched a 123-run stand for the second wicket off just 75 balls.
Dhawan departed after playing an amazing innings of 79 off 49. The southpaw's knock was studded with 13 boundaries (10 fours and three sixes). Williamson also chipped in with his 51 off 39. In the final over of the innings, Deepak Hooda also showcased his batting mettle and hammered 21 off just 11 balls. ended their 20-over quota after posting a fine total of 179/4. From Chennai, Shardul Thakur emerged as the leading wicket-taker with 2/32 figures in his four overs.

Pursuing the target, CSK started extraordinarily as their openers and Shane Watson smashed SRH bowlers ruthlessly. Both built a 134-run opening stand off just 81 balls. The partnership shattered Sunrisers' confidence completely. Watson went back to the dugout after scoring 57 off 35.
However, Rayudu continued his relentless approach and went on to score 100 runs off 62 balls. He remained unbeaten and took Chennai home comfortably after completing 19 overs.
MS Dhoni, while batting at number four, also scored 20 off 14. Rayudu became the Player of the Match (POTM) for his stunning contribution to Chennai's eight-wicket win.Rounak Tewari
