The Gujarat Titans have resumed training following the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, despite the fact that the BCCI has yet to release an official announcement about IPL 2025 resumption.

The IPL 2025 has been suspended for a week amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan over the border.

According to reports, the Gujarat Titans franchise has been spotted training in nets on May 11 evening, which lasted for three hours between 5:30 PM IST and nearly 9:00 PM IST.

It is understood that Indian players like Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj along with overseas stars such as Kagiso Rabada and Sherfane Rutherford were spotted at nets.

“They were to disperse today but with the announcement of ceasefire and talk of an early resumption happening, they decided to stay on in Ahmedabad,” said a GT official.

Gujarat Titans have 16 points in 11 games and secured top position in the IPL 2025 points table and are among the top contenders for the playoffs aiming for a top 2 finish.

On the other hand, it is learned that PBKS coaching staff – Ricky Ponting, Brad Haddin and James Hopes have chosen to stay back in India, despite the overseas players have departed and the domestic players returning to their home nation.

The development within the Punjab Kings camp contradicts the reported narrative that emerged from Dharamsala after PBKS-DC game was abandoned over escalating border tensions.

Initial reports suggested that the foreign players and staff, particularly the Australians were restive, were unwilling to continue and eager to return home.

A meeting between BCCI officials and Government representatives is likely to take place on Monday, during which the board may finalise and approve the timeline for the IPL’s resumption before making an official announcement.

A top IPL official told this website that BCCI members will seek clarity from the government on when and where the remaining 16 matches, including the four play-offs can be conducted.
