Rajeev Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), has revealed that no concrete decision has been made on the resumption of the IPL 2025 season.
Amid intense speculation and chatter, the BCCI VP exclaimed that the board officials are looking into the matter and also stated that the tournament would be resumed soon.
BCCI Vice President Offers Massive Update On IPL 2025's Resumption
The IPL 2025 season had to be suspended for a week after cross-border tensions escalated. Keeping the players and the fans' safety in mind, the tournament was called off mid-way through the PBKS vs DC clash at the HOCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Speculation has been rampant on when would the season commence as the tensions continued to escalate until a ceasefire was announced. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla offered an updated on the situation.
"No decision has been taken yet. The BCCI officials are working on the situation. The tournament was suspended for a week, and yesterday there was a ceasefire.... The tournament will be restarted soon," Rajeev Shukla said to the reporters on Sunday, as quoted by ANI.

IPL 2025 Expected To Finish In The Given Timeframe
Certain reports have mentioned that the BCCI have informed all the IPL franchises to be ready and regroup. Given that most of the overseas stars have already reached their homeland, the teams would have to make special amends to convince and call them back. Several players from India have also returned home. The BCCI intends to restart the season from May 16 and host more doubleheaders to finish the tournament on the given dates.
At this stage 16 matches remaining on its earlier schedule - 12 of them are league stage matches while four are playoff games. It is yet to be seen when would the BCCI and IPL shared the updated schedule.
