Team India’s England tour is close, with five Test matches played from June to August. But before that there will be an important coast-respective match. A two -day series between India A and England Lions. According to sources, India A team can be announced in the next few days, while the senior Test team is expected to be announced on May 19 or 20.
After Rohit Sharma’s official retirement from Test cricket and amidst speculation about Virat Kohli’s future, questions are being raised on the lack of experience in the team. This situation has made the discussions more interesting about the captaincy and middle order of Team India.
The names of experienced players like Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara may be in the discussions, but if sources are to be believed, the selectors are not in the mood to return to the old path. Their emphasis is on players who can play the entire World Test Championship cycle. The selectors want a permanent solution rather than temporary options, even if they have to choose a relatively inexperienced batting order.
Sources have also confirmed that some players can be sent to England in advance keeping in mind the possible dates of the launch of IPL 2025, so that they can better mold themselves under the circumstances there. Preparations before the Test series can prove to be the key to the success of this tour.
