Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has written to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), making a U-turn on his decision to play for Goa, explaining that his family had changed their plan to relocate to Goa from Mumbai.

Last month, Yashasvi Jaiswal asked the MCA to issue him a NOC after deciding to move to Goa to play the domestic season for 2025-26.

However, the MCA is yet to respond to the opener’s request, as it remains uncertain about the possibility of reversing an NOC. The association must consult the BCCI and the Goa Cricket Association before making a final decision.

“He has written a letter to us, but we are in no hurry to take a decision on this because there is time for the next domestic season,” said MCA secretary Abhay Hadap.

“He has said he has not submitted that NOC either with the BCCI or the Goa (Cricket Association) yet.”

Jaiswal was in action for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025 but the tournament was suspended amid border tensions between India and Pakistan on Friday morning.

After the IPL, his next assignment will be the five test tour of England, where the first test is scheduled to start June 20. He played 12 games for RR in IPL 2025 and was their leading run scorer with a tally of 473 averaging 43 at a strike rate of 154.57, with five half centuries.

Rajasthan Royals has been knocked out of the tournament securing only three wins out of 12 games. Yashasvi Jaiswal has played for Mumbai since his U-19 campaign.

He made his first class debut for Mumbai in 2019 and has since played for ten first-class games for them scoring 863 runs at an average of 53.93 including four centuries, two fifties and a highest score of 181 against Uttar Pradesh in 2022.

He has been part of Mumbai squad in the recent Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir, which they lost at home.

He was ruled out of the semi final against Vidarbha after injuring his right ankle while training ahead of the game.
