The Board of Control for Cricket in India is in action mode after the IPL 2025 between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off due to tension between India and Pakistan.
PBKS, DC and the fans were told to leave the stadium and now the BCCI is arranging a special train to move players, support staff and broadcasting crew to a safe location.
“We are in the process of arranging a special train for everyone to both teams and the broadcasting group. The match has been called off. We are monitoring the situation and the call regarding the remaining matches will be taken soon,” BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said.
Punjab were 122/1 in 10.2 overs when one of the floodlights stopped working. The players and fans were evacuated from the stadium for their safety. Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya hit fifties in the contest.
Arya scored 70 runs off 34 balls, laced with 6 sixes and 5 four before he was dismissed by T Natarajan. On the other hand, Prabhsimran was unbeaten on 50 runs off 28 deliveries, including 7 fours.
