Rajasthan Royals' (RR) home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium has received a bomb threat, leading to increased the security around the stadium.

Royals are set to host Punjab Kings at the venue on May 16, however, the ongoing situation could lead to an alteration in the scheduled fixture.

After the very next day of Operation Sindoor amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan . The threat for the Jaipur stadium came in via email at around 9:13 AM and immediately raised concerns for the authorities. The stadium was evacuated promptly as the bomb squad arrived at the venue.

"As a mark of your success in Operation Sindoor, we will carry out a bomb blast in your stadium. Save everyone if you can," the mail reportedly read.

Rajasthan Sports Council President Neeraj K Pawan said: "We received a bomb threat through email. The mail was then sent to the Police Commissioner. The bomb disposal squad and frisking team have arrived. The investigation is underway."

The Eden Gardens in Kolkata also received a similar threat recently before the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, the game was played and concluded as per plan, albeit in the presence of increased security.

The rising tensions between India and Pakistan have impacted the IPL to some extent as Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians' encounter scheduled for May 11 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala has been due to the shutdown of airports in Northern India. The match is likely to be played in Ahmedabad with no change in the scheduled date of the fixture.

"Since the match had to be shifted at the last minute, the BCCI asked if we could host it, and we have formally informed them that we are ready," Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Anil Patel said as quoted by TOI.
