Delhi: Veteran opener Rohit Sharma has launched a scathing attack on the quality of Indian cricket commentary and journalism. He says that instead of talking about the nuances of sports in the country, controversy and spice are being served, due to which real cricket lovers are suffering.

Recently, 38 -year -old Rohit, who retired from Test cricket, said these things in his YouTube channel and an interview given to journalist Vimal Kumar. He said that the commentary level in India has fallen immensely and this is injustice to real cricket fans.

Rohit told that when he stays on a tour in Australia, he sees the difference after hearing the commentary there. The right -hand opener said, “We watch matches on TV, but now the commentary that happens is very disappointing. In Australia, when we watch the match, the difference is clearly visible to hear the commentary.

Rohit accused the Indian broadcasters that they ignore the nuances of the game and bounce only the personal life of only one star player. He said, “You have a platform, but this does not mean that you can say anything. Respect the players as well.”

Sharan said, “Fans still want to understand the game, such as why a player's form is bad, what mistakes he made, but now instead of those questions, personal life is emphasized.”

Rohit also made strong comments about the current journalism. Hitman said in a farewell manner, “You guys are focusing on raising the controversy, presenting the news exaggerating.

Rohit made it clear that the players are ready to face criticism on their poor performance, but when it comes to the 'agenda', she gets out of tolerance.

Rohit said, “Yes, many times things have gone out of our hands and we did not perform well. We should get criticism on it. But, there is also a way of criticism, what is happening here seems to be an agenda, which no one will like.”

Significantly, Rohit Sharma is not the only player who has expressed resentment at the falling level of commentary and journalism. Former captain Virat Kohli has also openly criticized it.
