Indian cricket team captain and star batsman Rohit Sharma has taken a big decision. He has announced to retire from Test cricket, although he will continue to play in ODI cricket.
Rohit shared this information on his official Instagram account, in which he said that Test cricket was always special for him, but now he is taking off from this format. He also said that he will continue to contribute to ODI cricket for India.

Match: 4301 runs in 67 Tests, 12 centuries, 18 half -centuries
Best Score: 212 runs
Capture: India's captaincy in 24 Test matches, 12 wins
In recent times, the batting form was questioned in Rohit's Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in 2024-25. He scored only 31 runs in three matches, after which his Test career started getting speculation. Even after excluding himself from the Sydney Test, he rejected the rumors of retirement, but now he has formally taken goodbye from Test cricket.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also appreciated Rohit's contribution and greeted him for the future.
Rohit Sharma's decision is to make them emotional for cricket fans, but under his captaincy, India has achieved big achievements like T20 World Cup in 2024 and Champions Trophy in 2025. There is enthusiasm among the fans about his ODI career, and it is expected that he will achieve even more achievements for India in the coming time.
