Tim Southee Likely to Join England Team as Bowling Consultant Coach For Home Summer

The England National Cricket Team is all set to make a massive move by adding former New Zealand Cricketer Tim Southee as a bowling coach consultant ahead of the home summer season.

Southee announced his retirement from red-ball cricket, finishing with 391 test wickets, second only to Sir Richard Hadlee on 431.

Southee is all set to replace James Anderson in the support staff of the England National Cricket Team. Anderson worked as the fast bowling consultant after his retirement with the team, but will be parting ways with the team ahead of the summer.

According to reports, Tim Southee shares a strong rapport with England head coach Brendon McCullum.

Besides mcCullum, former New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel is also part of England’s coaching staff, currently serving as the spin bowling coach.

England might be looking at a depleted pace bowling attack for the one-off test against Zimbabwe at least, and likely to start of Indian assignment as well.

England missed the qualification for the WTC three cycles in a row, England and McCullum and Ben Stokes will be keen to get their side as close to the big final as possible.

England’s summer kicks off with one-off test against Zimbabwe next month followed  white ball series against England before hosting India on a five match test series.

The five test against India will be played between June 20 and 24 at Headingley Carnegie.

The second game is slated to take place from 2nd June at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

The Lord’s Cricket Ground in London will be hosting the third match from 10th July. The last two games are slated to take place from the 23rd and 31st of July at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester and The Kia Oval, respectively.

The series will between the two teams will also start of the new edition of the ICC World Test Championship.
