Karn Sharma, who has been a part of title winning campaigns with Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, is with the franchise. He was dropped after just one game in the 17th season before getting a recall in the eighth match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The impact was evident from his first over as there was some help from the wicket. Karn got some turn and conceded just 33 runs from his 4 overs at the Eden Gardens.
Navjot Singh Sidhu was quick to see Karn’s good bowling. “Wow. He is getting turn from the wicket. When you have a spinner like Karn Sharma in the team, why are you turning to part-timers? I am sure RCB would have been in a better position had he played more games in the season. You can’t bench a player like him,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
Karn almost won the game for RCB with the bat, hitting Mitchell Starc for three sixes. However, his dismissal in the same over resulted in KKR’s win by 1 run. Karn scored 20 off 7.
