Lucknow: The 36th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Garden. Batting first in this match, KKR scored 222 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. This match between the two teams was very exciting and Kolkata won by 1 run. In response to 223 runs, RCB had also scored 221 runs but they could not win and with this they are almost out of the race for the playoffs.
In this match, Bengaluru needed 21 runs to win in the last over and experienced fast bowler Mitchell Starc was bowling for Kolkata. So, Karn Sharma was batting for the team captained by Faf du Plessis and he hit three sixes in Starc's over. However, he was out on the fifth ball of the over and with this RCB lost the match by 1 run. With this, till now he has played a total of 8 matches and has won only one match.

Captain Shreyas Iyer played an excellent innings in this match for Kolkata, who came to bat first. Facing 36 balls, he played an inning of 50 runs with the help of 7 fours and one six. Apart from him, wicketkeeper batsman Philip Salt showed aggressive play while starting the innings. He played an innings of 48 runs in 14 balls. During this, 7 fours and 3 sixes came from his bat. Young batsman Ramandeep Singh also played some big shots for KKR in the last overs and scored unbeaten 24 runs on 9 balls. In this match for RCB, fast bowlers Yash Dayal and Cameron Green took two wickets each.
The Bengaluru team, which came to chase the target, did not have a good start in this match and they lost two wickets for 35 runs. However, after this young batsmen Will Jacques and Rajat Patidar took charge. There was a partnership of 102 runs in 48 balls between these two players but despite this they had to face defeat. In this match, Jacques scored 55 runs on 32 balls, while Patidar played an aggressive innings of 52 runs on 23 balls. Karn Sharma hit three sixes in Starc's last over but could not lead his team to victory.
