CSK Knocked Out of IPL 2025 Season as Punjab Secures 4 Wicket Victory

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been officially eliminated from the ongoing IPL 2025 season after suffering a four-wicket defeat against the Punjab Kings.

They secured only two wins out of 10 games securing the bottom position in the IPL 2025 points table and became the first team to be eliminated from the season.

Batting first, CSK lost both their openers, Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre, for 11 and 7 respectively to Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen.

Sam Curran and Jadeja came to bat after the dismissal of openers, where the latter went on aggressive mode, smashing 04 fours before being dismissed by Harpreet Brar.

By the end of the powerplay, CSK lost three wickets for 48 runs. After the powerplay, Brevis and Sam Curran quickened the innings, crossing the 100-run mark in the 12th over.

After suffering quick dismissals in the powerplay, CSK all-rounder Sam Curran and batter Dewald Brevis revive the side.

However, Dewald Brevis lost his wicket to Azmatullah for 32 runs. His knock included two fours and one six and has been sent on a good length delivery on off-stump. But Sam Curran went on to aggressive mode scoring his 6th IPL fifty.

He went on to score 88 runs in 46 deliveries which included 9 fours and 4 sixes before being dismissed by Marco Jansen. By his dismissal, Chennai lost 5 wickets for 172 runs in the 18th over.

MS Dhoni who came to bat scored 11 runs on four deliveries before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.

He went on to pick Hattrick wickets of Deepak Hooda, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad picking four wickets in this over.

Arshdeep Singh picked the wicket of Shivam Dube for 6 has helped the side on restricting the CSK crossing 200 run mark.

In the pursuit of chasing 190 runs, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.

Khaleel Ahmed picked the wicket of Priyansh Arya for 23 runs while Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh went on to score fifties each.

With Noor Ahmed picked the wicket of Prabhsimran for 54 runs, Nehal Wadhera lost his wicket to Matheesha Pathirana for 5 runs. Jadeja picked the wicket of Shashank Singh for 23 runs while Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket to Matheesha Pathirana for 72 runs.

In the final over, Khaleel Ahmed tried to defend 2 runs by picking a wicket of Suryansh Shedge but went on to lose the game with two balls remaining to spare.
