The 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has gone beyond the halfway stage, and gaps are starting to appear between teams at the top and those at the bottom.

Every match is turning out to be a must-watch as teams are jostling for positions in the playoffs.

There have been some seasons where all teams have been in contention till the last week of the tournament. As things stand, some teams like Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are in dire straits but are still not completely out of the qualification race.

CricTracker takes a look at three teams which are looking highly likely to go the distance and win the title this season.

Here are the three teams that can win IPL Final from the current scenario:

3. Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans (GT) are placed at No. 1 on the points table after having played eight games in IPL 2025. The Shubman Gill-led side has won six matches and lost only a couple. They won four games in a row earlier in the tournament and are currently on a two-match winning streak now. Their most recent game was against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens.

The 2022 champions read the conditions remarkably and came out victorious. Ashish Nehra, the head coach of GT, has been highly active during the matches, sending advice to captain Gill and the bowlers through his players who are fielding near the team dugout. The execution has also been immaculate from the players.

Their strength lies in their top three batters, who have scored more than 70% of their runs this season. The troika of Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler have made things easier for the middle-order batters.

The bowling has also been fantastic, with several bowlers stepping up. While Sudharsan is holding the Orange Cap currently, the Purple Cap is with Prasidh Krishna. Mohammed Siraj is having his best season in a long time. Gujarat have momentum on their side and are the favourites to clinch a spot in Qualifier 1. They have the players who can do well in the business end of the tournament and help the franchise earn its second IPL title.

2. Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals (DC) find themselves at No. 2 on the points table. Like GT, the Capitals have also won six and lost two out of the eight games they have played so far. However, their net run rate is +0.657 in comparison to GT's +1.104.Axar Patel, who is leading an IPL side for the first time, has done a brilliant job marshalling his troops. He has also taken a lot of responsibility with the bat, coming to bat higher up the order and playing some crucial knocks.

Youngsters like Abishek Porel and Vipraj Nigam have done well for the franchise. Senior players like KL Rahul and Mukesh Kumar have also stepped up.

The former has been batting fluently without the fear of losing his wicket and this change has come as a breath of fresh air after the years of criticism surrounding his strike rate. Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav have also produced some match-winning performances throughout the season. Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma have played some impactful knocks down the order. Delhi's strength has been the overall balance of their side. They would be quietly confident about helping the franchise lift its maiden title.

1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had to win their last six matches in the round-robin stage of IPL 2024 to reach the playoffs. However, they will not need to pull off such a herculean task to progress to the last four stage this season. Rajat Patidar, another first time IPL skipper, has been phenomenal at the helm. They have won five matches and lost three out of the eight that they have played in IPL 2025. RCB's opening combination has been a major hit. Phil Salt's inclusion has given RCB the impetus in the powerplay overs and allowed Virat Kohli to bide his time before going berserk. Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have done a sensational job, bowling inside the powerplay and also in the death overs.

Krunal Pandya might not have produced the goods with the bat as yet but he has been impressive with the ball. Tim David has also played some exhilarating knocks down the order. RCB's only weakness has been their lack of form at home. They have lost their first three games at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Patidar and Co. play four out of their last six games at home. They would be desperate to start winning in front of their home fans and go on to clinch an elusive first championship.
