Team India Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara has berated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant for a silly error against Delhi Capitals' (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game, held at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 22. Defending a target of 160 against Delhi, Lucknow removed dangerous Karun Nair in the fourth over of the innings but their biggest challenge was to remove in-form KL Rahul.
In the seventh over, Digvesh Rathi bowled a delivery against the veteran batter which went on to hit the latter's pad. The spinner appealed to the umpire but got no success. The young spin wizard went to his captain Pant and the 27-year-old took the review despite replays clearly showing the ball was impacting outside the off-stump.
who has been a teammate with Pant in the Indian Test side, divulged he had several conversations with him regarding DRS in red-ball cricket. The veteran asserted that the LSG captain goes clueless when it comes to judging the ball's trajectory. 'I have had so many conversations with him in Test format. So I know that he doesn't have a clue of where the ball is going. Being a wicket-keeper, he should know, and he will end up blaming me that I don't know," said Pujara on ESPNcricinfo.

Pant's miserable form continues in IPL 2025
Pant has failed to justify his heavy price tag of INR 27 Crore in this tournament. He has so far racked up 106 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 96.36.
Against DC in Lucknow, the southpaw came to bat at number seven and scored a two-ball duck. With Super Giants heading towards the conclusion of the round-robin stage, Pant will be expected to regain his form. 's next clash is against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on April 27. Mumbai have been in red-hot form recently as they have won their last four matches in the competition.
