Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul is having a terrific season so far in the Indian Premier League. Rahul has come out with a new and improved version of himself, where he has batted according to the situation in every game, instead of simply looking to take the game deep.

The batter, usually known to be calm and collected in demeanour, has had multiple animated outbursts in IPL 2025. Against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rahul celebrated in style after finishing off the game, and his celebration later went viral across social media.

Former cricketer Mark Boucher has wondered if someone has upset KL Rahul, prompting such an out-of-character emotional response from the batter.

"Just listening to him and watching him play, it's like he is doing it for something else. Whether it's that someone has really upset him or... there's a lot of emotion coming out, especially in that RCB knock. I don't see why it would be any different today. As I said, there's a lot of things that have happened behind closed doors. It just seems like today would be the perfect day for him to stand up for Delhi," Mark Boucher said about KL Rahul ahead of Delhi Capitals' match against Lucknow Super Giants.

"I think we might see him full of emotions again if he gets going. Tonight, we might see more than just an emotional spillover from KL Rahul. Everything that's been happening has been leading to it," he added.

KL Rahul has been sensational in the last 12 months for both India and Delhi Capitals. After not being picked for the Indian T20 World Cup, Rahul has turned a corner in his white-ball batting.

Rahul was brilliant in India's title-winning charge in the Champions Trophy 2025 and has done well in IPL 2025 as well.

Rahul has played six matches so far in the IPL this season and has scored 266 runs at a strike rate of 158.33, which is his second-highest in a single IPL season, behind the 2018 season, where he scored 659 runs at a strike rate of 158.41.

Last year, Rahul was sacked by the Lucknow Super Giants, whom he had captained for three seasons.
