As IPL 2025 ventures into its second half, more and more matches will start to be fixtures that have already been played once in the tournament.
Match No. 41, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Mumbai Indians (MI), will be the second league stage fixture between the two sides in the ongoing tournament.
Mumbai Indians have risen to the middle of the points table after a stellar comeback that has seen them win three matches in a row, the last of them against arch-rivals and fellow five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai.
CSK's start was very slow, and it took some aggression from the 17-year-old debutant Ayush Mhatre to breathe life into the innings. MI's bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah were at their best but Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube's fifties gave Chennai a defendable total.Rohit Sharma went about flashing his trademark intent, even though Ryan Rickelton was happy playing second fiddle. Surkyakumar Yadav then took over the stage, flaying a hapless CSK attack all over the park. Both Sharma and Yadav completed unbeaten fifties to hand MI a nine-wicket win.
SRH, meanwhile, have been struggling in the tournament, winning just two of their seven games and their playoff hopes hanging in by pretty much a sliver.
Their last game was the reverse fixture between the two teams. Bumrah once again, this time aided by Will Jacks, kept SRH to a low score. Jacks also showed up with the bat to arrest an apparent slide and decidedly put the match in MI's favour. Rickelton, Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav all got starts that helped, while Hardik Pandya's cameo helped MI get home early despite some drama around the final runs.Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Pitch Report

Rohit Sharma made his highest score of the tournament in the last game, but now he will have to come face to face against Cummins. The SRH skipper dismissed India's Test and ODI skipper in the reverse fixture to further improve his very good record against Sharma. In the IPL, Sharma has made 40 runs in 33 balls at a strike rate of 121.21 and dismissed four times at an average of just 10.00.
2. Abhishek Sharma vs Hardik PandyaAbhishek-Sharma. (Photo source: X/IPL)
Abhishek in general does not have a good record against any of MI's premier pacers (Jasprit Bumrah, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult and Pandya), but has copped the worst of it from MI's skipper. While all four of them have dismissed Abhishek twice each in the IPL, Pandya has conceded just 9 runs from 10 balls with an average of 4.50 and strike-rate of 90.
