Delhi Capitals player Vipraj Nigam has stated that the team plans to use KL Rahul‘s knowledge as they prepare for their match against the Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 22. Rahul was instrumental in getting LSG to the playoffs in 2022 and 2023. Rahul was captain of the franchise for three seasons. Several current players, notably Nicholas Pooran and Avesh Khan, played under Rahul’s captaincy.
Rahul will be playing for the first time against LSG, following his departure before the mega auction.
Nigam stated that Rahul’s detailed understanding of the LSG squad would be beneficial.“I don’t get any specific suggestions for the match against Lucknow. I am getting guidance from senior players in every game to improve my performance. As for Rahul bhaiya, his inputs are valuable because he has played with several players who were still part of Lucknow. We certainly talk about that in our team meetings. It’s incredibly helpful to have someone with that kind of knowledge about the rival bowlers and batters,” Nigam said.
Nigam stated that Faf du Plessis is recovering well, but the final decision on his participation would be taken by team management.
“He’s making good progress, but ultimately, the team management will make the final decision,” Nigam added.
Regarding his personal role in the squad, Nigam stated that he considers himself an all-rounder.
“I see myself as an all-rounder. I want to contribute with the ball and bat whenever the team requires it,” he concluded.
