Gujarat Titans Secured Comfortable 39-Run Victory Against Kolkata

Gujarat Titans secured a 39-run victory in the IPL 2025 game against Kolkata Knight Riders played on April 21 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Despite an aggressive knock from Rahane and a cameo from Raghuvanshi, Kolkata failed to claim victory at home ground.

Batting first, the Gujarat Titans set a target of 199 runs for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2025 game on April 21 at Eden Gardens.

Gujarat made a decent start, scoring 45 runs in the powerplay. However, the openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan both made fifties, helping the side to cross the 100-run mark.

Having started for the side, both Sudharsan and Gill have made a significant impact with their solid start in the ongoing season.

With the innings steadily building, Sudharsan lost his wicket to Andre Russell in the 13th over of the match. Buttler, who joined Shubman Gill, went off to a fiery start with back-to-back fours.

Gill, who made a stellar knock, went on to smash 90 runs with 10 fours and three sixes. However, he went on lose his wickets to Vaibhav Arora in the 18th over. By his dismissal, Gujarat lost their openers for 172 runs.

Rahul Tewatia joined well settled Jos Buttler aiming for crossing 200-run mark at Eden Gardens. Tewatia went on to lose his wicket for duck in Harshit Rana’s delivery.

With Jos Buttler powered his score to 41 off 23 deliveries, Sharukh Khan completed the innings with 11 runs.

Gujarat Titans scored 198 runs for three wickets in their 20 over innings.

With the target of 199 runs, Gurbaz and Sunil Narine opened the batting for Kolkata but failed to impress as they the former was dismissed on a lbw for one run while Narine was dismissed by Rashid for 17 runs.

Iyer scored only 14 runs before being dismissed by Sai Kishore. Kolkata was struggling with 84 runs for three wicket.

Rahane anchored the innings, scoring 50 runs off 36 deliveries but his dismissal has powered collapse in KKR’s lineup.

Andre Russell who scored 21 runs went on Rashid Khan’s delivery leaving the side tattering with 118 for 5.

In the 17th over, Prasidh Krishna went on to pick two wickets of Ramandeep and Moeen Ali. Angkrish Raghuvanshi who came to bat at No.9 smashed 13-ball 27 runs which helped the side to cross 150 runs.

By the end of 20 over, Kolkata scored 159 runs for 8 wickets. Rashid Khan and Prasidh Krishna picked two wickets each while Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar and Sai Kishor picked a wicket each at Eden Gardens.
