BCCI Central Contracts: These Youngsters Are Set To Be Rewarded For Impressive Performances

A list of promising youngsters is expected to be included in the much-awaited central contracts of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).According to Cricbuzz, Abhishek Sharma, a left-handed batter from Punjab who made an impact in the IPL 2025 for Sunrisers Hyderabad smashing a 40-ball hundred, all-rounder Nitish Reddy, and fast bowler Harshit Rana are among the youngsters who are strong contenders to be named in the coveted central contract.Abhishek is expected to be included in Grade C, which assures an annual retainership of Rs 1 crore.

Abhishek has played 17 T20Is in total and featured in 12 T20Is from October to September.Nitish, who made an impact during India's tour of Australia, played five Tests and four T20Is.

He is also expected to be included in Grade C. As per the BCCI, "Athletes who meet the criteria of playing a minimum of three Tests or eight ODIs or 10 T20Is within the specified period will automatically be included in Grade C on a pro-rata basis."Similarly, fast bowler Harshit Rana, who played two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20I, is also expected to be included in Grade C.Among other youngsters, star performers Varun Chakaravarthy (four ODIs and 18 T20Is) as well as Shreyas Iyer are also expected to be included.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja will continue to be in the A+ category, which assures an annual retainership of Rs 5 crore. The BCCI is expected to announce the contract in a couple of days, along with the names of the new support staff.
