Shreyas Iyer led Punjab Kings’ scripts history at Mullanpur by successfully defending the lowest score ever in IPL history. PBKS achieved this impressive record during their home clasg against KKR on 15 April 2025.

Batting first, Punjab Kings managed to score 111 runs after losing all 10 wickets. Under Shreyas Iyer’s impressive captaincy, the Punjab Kings successfully defended the 112-run target and won the game by 16 runs.

Speaking of the match, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bat first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran opened the innings for Punjab Kings, while Vaibhav Arora opened the bowling attack.

Though the duo made an impressive start, Rana in the fourth over dismissed Arya for 22 runs and made the first breakthrough. In the same over, Rana dismissed Iyer for two-ball duck.

After losing two key wickets in the same over, PBKS was expected to build a partnership, but Varun Chakaravarthy in the next over, dismissed Josh for two runs and loaded pressure over the PBKS batting lineup.

While Prabhsimran struck back-to-back sixes in the final over of the first powerplay, Rana dismissed Singh for 30 runs and contained PBKS for 54 runs for four wickets at the end of six overs.

KKR bowlers started to dominate the Punjab Kings batters and restricted batters from building a partnership. At the end of 15.3 overs, PBKS lost all 10 wickets for 111 runs.

While chasing, Punjab Kings bowlers made an exceptional inning and contained the KKR for 95 runs at the end of 15.1 overs. On behalf of PBKS, Yuzvendra Chahal bagged four wickets and Marco Jansen bagged three wickets, while Bartlett, Arshdeep Singh and Glenn Maxwell each bagged one wicket.
