Tim David, Pollard fined for breaching IPL Code of Conduct during a match against PBKS

Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard and allrounder Tim David have been slapped with a fine of 20 per cent of their match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Punjab Kings on April 18.

The board has not revealed the exact reason for the fine but rumours spread that BCCI might have imposed the fine for involving in the PBKS vs MI DRS controversy.

Along with this fine, Mumbai Indian captain Hardik Pandya was also handed a fine for maintaining a slow over-rate against Punjab Kings.

Regarding the IPL Code of Conduct breaching, BCCI official statement reads “Mumbai Indians batter Tim David and Batting Coach Kieron Pollard have been fined for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during their team’s Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur on April 18”.

“David and Pollard committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. David and Pollard were each fined 20 per cent of their respective match fees. Both admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding”.

Under Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians are having a tough outing this season. Mumbai Indians registered a hattrick loss in their IPL opening campaign and managed to pull a couple of victories against Delhi Capitals and RCB but failed to maintain their winning phase.

After losing to CSK, Mumbai registered their 3rd victory of the season against PBKS in their last game. Mumbai Indians currently hold the 7th spot in the IPL 2024 points table with an NRR of negative 0.133.

Mumbai Indians will play their next game of the season against Rajasthan Royals on April 22 in Sawai Mansingh StadiumJaipur.
