Kolkata Knight Riders have once again registered a spectacular victory at Chepock Stadium. KKR, captained by Ajinkya Rahane, continued the process of success on this ground and defeated Chennai Super Kings badly in the IPL 2025 match. Kolkata defeated Chennai by 8 wickets in his own house and trapped Chennai in his own trap. This victory of KKR was even more special for captain Rahane because with this he has avenged the insult to MS Dhoni, which was in front of everyone 10 years ago.

Defeated Dhoni's CSK badly

At the Chennai's domestic ground Chepock Stadium, Kolkata could somehow cross the 100-run figure by the hosts in their spin attack.

In the match played on Friday 11 April, Chennai batted first and could only score 103 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Every Chennai batsman was seen struggling on Chepock's pitch and captain MS Dhoni himself became a victim of a spinner by scoring just 1 run in 4 balls.

Three spinners from Kolkata took 6 wickets in 12 overs bowling in this match. In response to this, Kolkata achieved this target only by losing 2 wickets in just 61 balls after this razoring batting of Chennai. Sunil Narine scored an explosive innings of 44 runs in just 18 balls, while captain Rahane also scored an unbeaten 20 runs.

While Chennai's entire innings hit only one six, for KKR, a six for KKR, Captain Rahane gathered in his short innings, while his team scored a total of 10 sixes.

Rahane avenged 10 years old insult

This victory was special for KKR but was more satisfactory for Rahane. Even though the veteran captain of KKR has not said about it, but inside the mind he would have been very relaxed because after about 10 years he equalized the insults made by Dhoni. In fact, on the tour of Bangladesh in June 2015, Team India had to face defeat in the first 2 ODIs.
