On April 8, India's young shooter Suruchi Phogat has targeted the gold medal in the 10m air pistor competition in the ISSF World Cup being played at Buenos Aires, Argentina. Suruchi secured 244.6 points in the final of 8 shooters and finished first on the podium. Apart from this, Kian Wei of Chinese finished second with 241.9 points while her compatriot and two -time Olympic medalist Jiang Rensin (221.0) finished third. Let us know that earlier Suruchi scored 583 marks and also topped the qualification round. Manu Bhakar, Surabhi Rao, Sanyam and Simranpreet Kaur, who won two Olympic medals of India, failed to make it to the finals.
Target on such a golden gold
China's Qian scored 10.9 points in his first shot in the 24 -shot final, which made the Indian youth start with 10.1 points. Getting 8.9 points in two 9 points and 10th shot meant that despite some high 10 points, the Indian players were out of the podium location after 10 shots. However, in the three individual categories, national champion Suruchi, as soon as the elimination began, introduced his brilliant game and hit 10.7 and 10.8 shots for the 11th and 12th shots and took the first time after the 13th shot.
Suruchi Phogat has been invincible in this domestic season. The 18 -year -old pistol shooter won the three individual titles (Senior, Junior and Youth) and won a gold medal in the National Games.
Manu Bhakar also took a similar lead in the 2017 National Championships in Kerala, when he made his presence felt by defeating some big names of Indian shooting.Have to achieve a lot now
After the victory, Suruchi said that I came in the tournament with some very good scores in domestic matches and this helped me to stay in good rhythm. I was enjoying my shooting and I did not feel any pressure. He said that it seems good to win his first World Cup gold. This is a big moment but I have to achieve much more.
