Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu heaped massive praise on RCB captain Rajat Patidar after he led the franchise to their first win against MI in 10 years at the Wankhede Stadium. Royal Challengers Bengaluru restricted Mumbai Indians to 209/9 while defending their total of 221 runs.
Rajat was impressive as a captain and was named the Player of the Match for scoring 64 runs and his leadership. Sidhu compared him with the great Imran Khan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.
“When a man is calm, he makes the right decisions. He gave the credit to bowlers because the wicket was tough for bowling. He led like Imran Khan, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, backing his players when needed. Credit was given to teammates while he was ready to take flak,” he said.
“We saw Dhoni giving the World Cup trophy to his teammates while Hardik Pandya repeated the act when he handed over the IPL trophy to his GT teammates. Rajat has no fear of failure. His innings was special. The strike rate was coming down after Virat Kohli’s dismissal, but Rajat didn’t allow the trend to continue and went after the bowlers. He has a magnificent track record against the fast bowlers and spinners,” he added.
This was RCB’s first win against MI in Mumbai after 10 years.
