Legendary India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni has shared a list of players he would love to see playing together again. Dhoni is currently participating in the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) with CSK, who have struggled in the tournament, securing just one win from their first four matches.

In a recent interview, Dhoni was asked which former players he would like to see back on the field together. The former India captain mentioned several of his former teammates, expressing a desire to watch Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Yuvraj Singh play alongside each other again.

“Yeah, I would stick with my Indian players. Viru pa (Virender Sehwag) should open the batting. So, Viru and Sachin, Dada. The thing is, just imagine them all at their peak. The beauty of watching them play is that you feel like there’s no one else quite like them. But cricket is such a dynamic game, always fluctuating, so it becomes hard to pick just a few. Growing up, we all saw these players perform, and their impact was undeniable.”

Dhoni also fondly recalled Yuvraj Singh’s legendary six sixes against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup, stating that each of these players was a match-winner during their prime years.

“Take Yuvi, for example, when he hit those six sixes, you felt like there was no one else you’d rather watch. So why should I pick just one? Why not appreciate all of them? They all made their contributions to India, ensuring we won tournaments wherever we went.”

Meanwhile, Dhoni has faced significant criticism over his batting position and approach in the ongoing IPL season. He came in to bat at number nine against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), even lower than Ravichandran Ashwin. Furthermore, he was unable to finish the game for CSK against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC). These performances have contributed to three consecutive losses for CSK, leading to speculation that Dhoni’s retirement could be imminent.
