Jasprit Bumrah has made his long-awaited return to the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad, offering a much-needed boost to the team as they prepare for their upcoming IPL 2025 clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday (April 7).

Bumrah, who has been sidelined since January due to a stress-related injury in his lower back, has now received medical clearance to resume playing. His injury occurred during the New Year's Test against Australia, and he has been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

Bumrah's return was on the horizon as Hardik Pandya mentioned ahead of the Lucknow match that the India pacer is close to joining them.

The return of Bumrah is significant for MI, who have been struggling in the early part of the season, with only one win from their first four games. His presence in the squad will be crucial for MI's hopes of turning around their fortunes and securing vital points in the tournament.

Will Jasprit Bumrah Play Against RCB?

While Bumrah has rejoined the squad, it is unlikely that he will play in MI's next match against RCB. The team management is expected to ease him back into action gradually, and his participation in the upcoming match is uncertain. More than likely, the final call on his involvement will be made after seeing how he performs in the practice sessions leading up to the game.

There have been reports that the player took part in an intrasquad practice match and will be in action today for a simulation match as well. Although MI won't risk him, the speedster maybe handed an opportunity with the ball. It is likely that Rohit Sharma will return to the playing 11 after missing out the LSG match with a knee issue.

Currently, MI are placed seventh in the points table with just one win from four games. They will be hoping that Bumrah's return will help them make a strong push in the tournament as they face RCB on Monday.
