Mumbai Indians speedster Jasprit Bumrah has joined the franchise after recovering from his back injury. The five-time champions posted a video in which his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, is seen telling their son Angad a story of a Lion (Jasprit Bumrah) who fought several battles but didn’t give up.
“Let me tell you a story. In 2013, there was a cub who entered this jungle. A jungle full of runs, sixers, and boundaries where everyone was scared, he showed courage. Over the years, he fought many battles. He fought for survival; he fought for his pride. He won, he lost, but he never gave up. These battles left scars, but these scars didn’t stop him. Once a cub, now the Lion. The Lion is back, and he is back to be the king of this jungle again,” Sanjana Ganeshan said.
He will miss the home game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 7 and is likely to return to the playing XI for the contest against Delhi Capitals on April 13.
MI have been hit hard by his absence, as the franchise has lost three matches in the 18th season so far. Their only win game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In 133 IPL matches, he has taken 165 wickets at an average of 22.51 and an economy of 7.30.
