The Chennai Super Kings who are currently positioned at the eight spot in the IPL 2025 points table, made a terrible start in their 183-run chase game against Delhi Capitals at their home venue.
In their first three games, CSK managed to win only one game and registered consecutive defeats against RCB and RR. With the home venue advantage, CSK was expected to make a bounce back by winning their fourth game of the season scheduled to be played against DC.
In the CSK vs DC clash at Chepauk, Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bat first. In the absence of Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul and Fraser-McGurk opened the inning for Delhi Capitals while Khaleel Ahmed opened the bowling attack for CSK.
In the very first over, Khaleel Ahmed dismissed Fraser-McGurk for duck and made an impressive start for CSK. But Abishek Porel and KL started to build a partnership and pushed DC to score 51 runs at the end of first powerplay.
While the duo started to dominate the CSK bowlers, Jadeja in the seventh over dismissed Porel for 33 runs and broke the partnership. Following the dismissal, Axar Patel started to dominate the spinners and made a crispy 14 balls 21 runs before being dismissed by Noor in the 11th over.

With KL Rahul’s 77 runs off 51 deliveries, Delhi Capitals scored 183 runs for six wickets at the end of 20 overs.
