Axar Patel has led the team well, with new players KL Rahul and Mitchell Strac making contributions. In the third contest against Chennai Super Kings, Rahul was promoted to open the innings and the batters ended up as the highest run-getter for his franchise.

He amassed 77 runs off 51 balls, packed with 6 fours and 3 sixes to take the total to 183/6 in 20 overs. He didn’t get enough support from the other end, as other batters couldn’t bat aggressively to increase the scoring rate.

Rahul, who missed the first match against LSG due to the birth of his first child with his wife Athiya Shetty, has made useful contributions against Sunrisers Hyderabad and CSK. Former India player Aakash Chopra called him Mr Fix-it of Delhi Capitals.
