An outstanding performance from Mitchell Marsh and Markram pushed LSG to post 203 runs in the first inning while Digvesh Singh Rathi’s impressive bowling spell contained Mumbai Indians for 191 runs.

Speaking of the match, Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl first. Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram opened the inning for LSG while Boult opened the bowling attack for Mumbai Indians.

Mitchell Marsh made an aggressive start and dominated the Mumbai Indians bowlers. Notably, Mitchell got an early life in the fourth delivery of the first over as none of the opponents made an appeal for the caught behind.

At the end of 10 overs, LSG managed to score 100 runs for two wickets. In the next over, Hardik Pandya made another breakthrough by dismissing Pant for two runs. Ayush Badoni and Aiden Markram started to build a partnership and scored 46 runs in the next five overs.

Ashwani Kumar in the 16th over, broke the partnership by dismissing Badoni for 30 runs. But Markram on the other hand, continued the momentum and secured his IPL fifty but in the fifth ball of the 18th over, Hardik Pandya dismissed Markram for 53 runs and put an end to his long-standing inning.

With a couple of wickets in the final over, Hardik Pandya registered his first fifer in the IPL tournament and contained LSG with a score of 203 runs for 8 wickets.

While chasing, Mumbai Indians made a terrible start by losing a couple of wickets within three overs. Naman Dhir and Suryakumar Yadav started to build a partnership and pushed Mumbai’s score to 86 runs for two wickets at the end of eight overs.

While Naman Dhir was nearing his half-century, Digvesh Rathi in the first delivery of the ninth over dismissed Naman for 48 runs and broke the well-settled partnership.

At the end of 10 overs, Mumbai Indians scored 101 runs for three wickets loss. Tilak Varma then on joining hands with Suryakumar Yadav, dragged Mumbai to score 143 runs for three wickets at the end of 15 overs.

While things were moving in favour of the visitors, Avesh Khan in the first delivery of the 17th over, dismissed Suryakumar Yadav for 67 runs and broke the 66 runs stand.

With 22 needed off the last six deliveries, Avesh Khan successfully defended the target and guided Lucknow to register their second victory of the season by beating MI by 12 runs.
