Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has created history in IPL 2025. Hardik, who is consistently criticized due to his captaincy and defeat of the team, took his own bowling in his fourth match of this season and wreaked havoc with his bowling. In the match against Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai captain Hardik alone set a record by taking 5 wickets. Hardik returned the pavilion to batsmen like Rishabh Pant, Nicholas Puran and became the first captain to take 5 wickets in a match in 18 years of IPL.
On Friday, April 4 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Lucknow batsmen scored a big score in a strong performance, but for Mumbai, captain Hardik kept the front from one end and took a fierce iron. Hardik took wickets in his first over and also ended the innings with 2 wickets in the last over. Hardik took wickets in every over of his spell.
Mumbai needed wickets after the fast start on Mitchell Marsh and Aidan Markram Saak Dum. In the seventh over, Vignesh Putur dismissed Marsh but new batsman Nicholas Puran had started attacking the crease. In such a situation, Hardik himself took the responsibility of bringing the team back. Hardik, who came for bowling for the first time in the 9th over, dismissed Puran in form on the fifth ball. This was a big wicket for Mumbai as Puran was dismissed for just 12 runs. Hardik again achieved success in his next over as well and this time returned the pavilion to Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant.
