Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled of the match against Lucknow Super Giants. He was hit on the knee in the practice session and declared unfit for the contest in Lucknow. The 37-year-old has been out of form and struggled in the first three matches against Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

The right-handed batter has been troubled by the pacers, and the management is concerned about the dip in his form. He was also used as an impact sub, considering his performances, but it didn’t help him.

Rohit’s poor display with the bat has impacted Mumbai in the last few seasons, and the decision-makers sacked him from captaincy before the start of the 17th season and replaced him with Hardik Pandya. The Mumbai-based franchise finished last in the points table.

Meanwhile, Rohit has led MI to five IPL titles and is among the most successful captains in the history of the cash-rich league. There is no update on his return, and skipper Hardik only revealed that the legendary batter is out of the match against the Rishabh Pant-led unit.
