Delhi: Mumbai Indians (Mi) senior batsman Rohit Sharma is once again trapped in a new controversy. Rohit has not been seen in good form yet in this season. He has scored only 21 runs in three matches so far. In the first match, he was out without opening an account against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), then could only score 8 and 13 runs in the next two matches.
Meanwhile, a video of Rohit Sharma and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Zaheer Khan's conversation are going viral on social media. This video himself was shared by Mumbai Indians on his X (first Twitter) account.
In the viral video, Rohit is seen saying to Zaheer Khan, “When he used to do it, I do not need to do it now.”
Fans are looking at this by linking it with their bad form and saying that perhaps Rohit is now very tired or does not understand the need to prove himself.
Apart from this, when he was dismissed for just 13 runs in the last match at Wankhede Stadium against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he was also seen talking to Mumbai Indians mistress Neeta Ambani.
This is not the first time that such a video of Rohit has gone viral. In the last season too, he was talking to Kolkata coach Abhishek Nair saying, “This is my last,” that it was being speculated that Rohit could go to another team except Mumbai.
Significantly, before the 2024 season, the captaincy was taken away from Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya was made the new captain of Mumbai Indians. After this decision, there were also reports of a lot of controversy and tension in the Mi camp.
However, now the team seems to be united again and is trying to perform brilliantly like the old days. His next match will be against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday, April 4.
