Lucknow: Many veteran players have criticized the impact player rule in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has also joined this episode. Recently he had said that it was not right for an all-rounder and expressed his concern over it. Now on this, former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan has also supported Rohit and condemned this rule. Let us tell you that after the introduction of impact rule in IPL, teams get the option of an additional bowler, due to which all-rounders are not bowling.

Zaheer raised questions on this and said that with this the team will get half the all-rounders and not the whole number. Since the introduction of the impact player rule, many players who used to bowl continuously earlier have not bowled. This includes Shivam Dubey of CSK and Washington Sundar of Hyderabad. Rohit had also expressed concern about these two players. Khan has given a big statement during a conversation with Geo Cinema on this matter.

He said, “I completely agree that this is a subject of debate. Certainly this rule has been a matter of some concern. We have to find a way to deal with this and with the impact player rule you will get incomplete all-rounders, not complete ones.”

Recently, while talking about this rule of IPL on Club Parry Fire YouTube channel, he condemned it. He said, “This is not good for all-rounders. Washington Sundar and Shivam Dubey have not bowled yet this season. This is a worrying topic. You play with 11 players in international cricket and 12 players in IPL. This rule has been made to entertain the audience but I am not in favor of it.”

Let us tell you that the Indian team lacks an all-rounder who can bowl fast along with batting. Hardik Pandya is the only player who currently meets these standards with India. Apart from him, no such player has come till now. Shivam Dubey was the player who was trying to take his place but after the introduction of the impact player rule, he has not bowled.
