KKR return to winning ways in IPL 2025, defeat SRH by 80 runs

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 80 runs to register their second win in the Indian Premier League 2025. The defending champions were in a spot of bother following defeats against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians, but the team bounced back against SRH at the Eden Gardens. They posted 200/6 in their 20 overs and dismissed the rival for 120 runs in 16.4 overs.

Heinrich Klaasen (33) and Kamindu Mendis (27) showed some fight with the bat for Hyderabad, but they couldn’t carry on. The likes of Travis Head (4), Abhishek Sharma (2) and Ishan Kishan (2) failed for the second match in a row.

Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora took three wickets each for the three-time champions. Earlier, Venkatesh Iyer was the top-scorer for the Knight, scoring 60 runs off 29 balls, with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was also brilliant with the bat, scoring 50 runs off 32 deliveries, packed with 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Rinku Singh managed an unbeaten 32 runs off 17 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six.

Mohammed Shami, PAT Cummins, Zeeshan Ansari, Harshal Patel and Kamindu Mendis Took a wicket each at the eden gardens.
