The 34th match of Indian Premier League 2024 is being played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants. Both the teams are facing each other at the Ekna Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Lucknow, who have lost their last two matches, will be looking to return to winning ways at home, while the Chennai team will look to maintain their winning streak and register their third win in a row.
Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Ruturaj Gaikwad (Karndhar), Rachin Ravindra, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dubey, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (Wicketkeeper), Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande, Mustafizur Rahman, Mathisha Pathirana.
Lucknow Super Giants (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper/captain), Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Matt Henry, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan, Yash Thakur.
Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first. Lucknow have made one change to the team for this match. Lucknow has replaced Shamar Joseph with Matt Henry in the playing XI for this match.
CSK has made two changes in the playing eleven for this match. Deepak Chahar has been given a chance in place of Shardul Thakur while Daryl Mitchell has been left out. His Moeen Ali will play today.
Lucknow have played two IPLs so far and this time they are participating in it for the third time. If we talk about the head to head statistics of CSK and LSG, they have played only 3 matches so far. Both of these teams have won one match each and one match has not been decided.
The team that bats first on the Lucknow pitch will have the advantage. This is why KL Rahul's team has won the toss thrice so far and elected to bat first each time. The team managed to win two of these matches and lost one match.
Lucknow's pitch has a lot for the bowlers and can trouble the batsmen. However, runs can also be scored if the batsmen play carefully. Also, spinners also make their impact.
