India are blessed with star batters across formats in international cricket. However, few can or are dominating white-ball cricket and Test matches. Virat Kohli is the only current Indian cricketer who has been at his best in ODIs, T20Is and Tests. Although he struggled in red-ball cricket in the last one year, the right-handed batter had a long purple match.

After Kohli, Sai Sudharsan has the talent and skill set to play for India in shorter formats and the most extended version of cricket.

He hasn’t got enough chances and has played just three ODIs and one T20I. The southpaw is once again amongst the leading run-scorers in the Indian Premier League.

Playing for Gujarat Titans, the 23-year-old has amassed 74, 63, and 49 against Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He is one of the most consistent performers in the tournament. Legendary opener Navjot Singh lauded Sai and even compared him with great Sunil Gavaskar.

“I am a fan of Sai Sudharsan. He is technically the best batter I have seen. He has a similar stance to Sunil Gavaskar and bats like him. Sai plays close to the body. You give him a chance in any format and he will be a champion. The straight drive he played against Josh Hazlewood was the best from a batter to date,” Navjot Singh Sidhu said on Star Sports.
